re/lease

Got an email from my agent today saying that I was released from the Liberty Mutual spot, which officially means I did not make it into the final cut. I am not surprised, but it is an interesting term, is it not?  I am “free” of the mantle of being in the commercial and am available to audition for other insurance commercials.  Officially.

All is not lost, though.  A friend of mine told my manager that she saw me in the Fallon Healthcare spot, which makes sense, since she lives in Boston.  That’s a relief, I must admit.  Now I just want the ComCast spot to run...

Good weekend.  Jam packed with stuff.  I help Andrew learn how to drive a manual transmission since he booked a VW spot and had to drive one.  Whit and I knocked a bunch of errands out of the park on Saturday, bam!  We had a great night with friends watching the all to underwhelming De La Hoya/Mayweather fight, which was a first for both of us.  I had no idea the fights were so short, but I guess it makes sense. 12 rounds with 60 second breaks.  Yikes.  It was interesting and I am sure there will be a matchup but I officially couldn’t care less.

Saw Spider-Man 3 last night and came out feeling kind of confused.  A lot of stuff happens in that movie and it ends on a real down note, and I just had a hard time accepting that Raimi could make a movie that I didn’t really like all that much.  No matter; I guess of the people who went and saw a movie this weekend, 4 out 5 of them went and saw that film.  All over the planet. Crazy!

The other day I was cleaning up our desktop machine (Whit and I both live on MacBooks but use the desktop machine for web access and music sharing) and I found my travel emails from the summer of 2001.  I am actually really looking forward to going through them and perhaps linking the photos with the text; make a book out of it or something.  Should be a cool project. Those emails were actually  one of the reasons I started writing an online journal in the first place.  We’ll see if they are interesting at all.
