About Mike

Hi, I’m Mike Romo.

Thanks for coming by. As you can see, this site is primarily about my acting work — I hope you enjoy it.

I am an actor in Los Angeles by way of New York and San Francisco. I trained at American Conservatory Theater (their Summer Training Congress program) and got a degree in theater from Santa Clara University and while my initial acting experiences were on stage, most of the work I do now is either on-camera or voiceover, with the occasional hosting gig or presentation here and there. I do miss doing plays (especially Shakespeare), so who knows? Maybe one day I’ll get back working the Bard on the boards.

Over the years I have had “regular” jobs in a variety of industries (seemingly all of them involve me crawling under a desk to plug something in at least once a week). I have worked at an IT Director at a cool brand shop in Tribeca (Lee Hunt Associates), driven internal communications at an über hip tech shop in SoHo (Razorfish), managed Internet security products (and had a talk show—this was at Symantec) and helped drive film, games and technology efforts at an upstart entertainment company (Six Foot). Currently work in the business of video games at DDM, where I drive consulting services. Basically, if you are looking to navigate the business of video games, the team at DDM is here to develop strategies for you to be successful, from establishing a new IP to investing in up and coming developers and technology partners. You can learn all about the work we do by going here.

When I am not working on worky-stuff, I really like to play music (I have a few mixes here), draw and/or struggle with waterscolors, play games (it’s research!) and dance. I should be doing a lot more writing, I’d like to be doing a lot more traveling and feel like the stack of books on my nightstand doubles every three weeks.

Anyway, thanks for coming by!
